For the first time ever, a quantitative study was conducted regarding representation and the experience of inclusion throughout the Swedish music industry. We at Perspetivo are proud to collaborate with the organization Musiksverige in such an important project.
The study was partly done to highlight which perspectives are included, which might be excluded, and whether there are differences depending on where one is situated in the music industry.
The music industry is facing significant challenges that require innovative solutions, in which everyone should be involved in developing. It is important for the industry to represent the entire society and for all perspectives to be included in shaping the future of the Swedish music industry – something that plays a critical role when it comes to innovation and growth.
"The survey revealed that we are facing a so-called brain drain if we do not improve our ability to recognize and nurture talent. Respondents with a foreign background are the ones least likely to be affiliated with any organization, which means that as an organization, we have failed to reach this group."
